Blog posts now support up to 10 photos!

The blogs now support up to 10 photos per post and a number of new formatting tags to give you more control of your post.

To put your main photo, you can use both the [image] or [image1] as shown below.

[image3] and [image5] corresponding to your 3rd and 5th photo uploaded.

You can resize photos and change the alignment using width/height and right/left tags such as
[image2 right width=30 height=100]

The right/left tags are useful when you want your text to flow around such as the following. I've put the tags next the photo so you can see how it is do.

This is a great feature , Thank you

A question though,, is there anyway to get the "quote" button on some of the blogs working again? Mine had been out for 2 days. A chat with the Customer service desk was an underwhelming experience. I know of 5 other bloggers that are experiencing the same issue, without help. After almost 20 minutes I was advised this is a technical issue and Bug #CD-16753 was opened. That was this morning and still does not work.

I am sorry for interjecting here, but the Customer Support is anything but supportive, especially to a paying member. Thank you

Please cum visit my blog,,,,,,,,,,,,pal334

Well done - this is a great new feature and will allow for more well formatted and interesting blogs.... now please do not do away with bling - that is different - it can be reused and gifted etc. and serves a different function to simply putting multiple images in a post

Thank you Andrew. It good for those who like to use a lot of images on their blog post. Would this usable also in advice line, polls and group posting.

Interesting, this is a feature we've been asking for, but very disappointing layout! And what happened to bigger images to our blog headers?

When you float images to the left or right inside a blog post, it should cause the adjacent text to flow along the right or left borders of the picture and then continue below it once the text flow exceeds the bottom border. This makes text and paragraphs appear to 'wrap around' our pictures and thus creates a professional looking layout.

The way I see this "new" feature, it fails to take advantage of the ability to float pictures to the left or right on our blogs. It doesn't even allow spacing between paragraphs. This is a terrible display, an awful looking layout. Epic fail.

C'mon Andrew, you can do better than this.

Koffla... I really appreciate how you hold me to as high of a standard as I do and come up with good suggestions! The good news is that the image tags I added were just some that I quickly came up with. There is still a few bugs (e.g., margin tags). I'm assuming that you have used table tags to get the images in their own column... I don't know if there is a css/float tag that will do that automatically vs the margin tag. If so, let me know and I'll get to it!

BTW, I think you can use the margin-top=100 margin-bottom=100 image tags to do what you've suggested, no?

Also, it's been a while... does the table tag include valign?

Well that's interesting - now the big question is formatting. It's been a while since I posted anything complicated to my blog because I was so disgusted with the mess that they ended up with a year or so ago that I deleted everything. So Formatting, will I be able to justify the pictures (left - center right) and the text so that the blog posts look decent?

Can I get the text to reflow around the picture? It's OK to do this within tables if tables are working again (it's been a while since I bothered doing anything with the blog so maybe this will work?).

I've always appreciated your support for the blogs (the last bunch here didn't seem to have a clue) and wonder if I may look forward to being able to properly format posts so that I can actually post something that looks like a decent quality article.

Andrew replies on 12/21/2013 10:02 am:
Formatting is a work in progress... but you should be able to do image text flows using margin tags and left/right. Might take a while to figure it out... you can't break anything

Thanks for the feedback - things will be different now that I'm back as CEO.

first of all, thank you for adding this feature for blog...i have been waiting this for loooonnng time...i really love it..since i love it so much, i have already used it today ...

one thing i am having a problem is that, when i change the picture that have been already inserted, the new pic never shows up...

the explanation in the "edit post" states "If you change your photos, it may take a few minutes before the new photo shows up."

well...it's been over 6 hours now, and i have already tried to switch few times, by either deleting the old photo first, or just inserting again, but still not showing up...

Andrew replies on 12/21/2013 9:23 pm:
Will have to check in to see how long images are cached (saved by the webserver so if you change it, it never is shown.... we might have to change the photo filename when people upload new photos... again something to check on Monday.

Thanks for this Andrew. But I found that if I want 2 images side by side, the total width being 600px, it won't work and they're posted one on top of another.

Also, if I post one image, try to change it to another one in the same slot, the new one won't be respected and only the old one shows.

Nice new functionality! My experience has been that anything which gives a user the ability to customize their expressions (ranging from their colors on their blogs to the blog posts themselves) is a major value add.

Bigger images in header? Email what you mean

I am unable to email you or upload images on the blog comment section. I uploaded the image on this link, Q & A for 12/10 - 12/20.

When we upload a picture in our blog header, the site automatically resize it to 100 pixels wide. If you look at the image I uploaded on this link Q & A for 12/10 - 12/20 you will see what I mean. The bigger "picture" used on my blog header banner on top of the picture, is actually created using blings, it is 800 pixels wide. At one time bigger blog banner images were allowed, unfortunately, that feature was also taken away from us.

I hear you... sometimes things work differently in the development system than on live. Photo caching is an example... will work on it this week. You could save time by uploading a new photo in location 5 for example and use the 'image5' tag to replace your other image... yah, a hack, but just for now.

This is excellent news and a good explanation. I wish I had seen it before I fiddled with my post for 20 minutes this afternoon trying to get the three pictures in the order I wanted them to be where I wanted them to be in the post, but then again I thought it was Wednesday all day today so who knows how much I would have absorbed anyway.

Maybe another thing that could be looked at are the glitches in the Nudity catcher. I usually have everything blocked and turn on Nudity as I choose and it's a little random. For instance, a guy had a cartoon on his blog of a dog that looked kind of like Snoopy, you know, with the long head, and that was X'ed out - yet all kinds of actual human nudity occurrences seem to slide by all the time. It seems like it worked more consistently before the current three-tier system. Obviously I'm not a prude and I'm not shocked - and I'm only bringing it up because you seem like a person who sees value in things working as described.

I just read Koffla's comment about bigger images in the blog headers.

Maybe you or someone else on your team could just post an image to one of your blog headers via the Settings link and you'd see what he means. The images are tiny.

And since it is Christmas Eve . . . would it be possible to add to the list some way to limit blog width especially on the page where the comments appear to make the blogs easier for mobile users to read? There used to be a way to hack the front page with a sticky post, and I think with the image posting changes that may be obsolete now. I don't know enough about coding to know how much of a big deal this would be.

Ok. If you mean as a sticky post on top of your home blog page, you can not. You can do that on blog post. Most of the Setting option are not available for polls posting that are available for adding a post.

The same with posting on group, the moderator can pin up a group post but not polls posting.
